WIP "Daphne"

 

Work in progress. This is just a sketch. I might do something with it some day. I love the story of Daphne and Apollo.

...Seeing that Apollo was bound to catch her, she called upon her father, "Help me, Peneus! Open the earth to enclose me, or change my form, which has brought me into this danger!" Suddenly, her skin turned into bark, her hair became leaves, and her arms were transformed into branches...

Got my own drawing "Anna" framed for a change! The larger one. (The small ones are woodcuts by Niclas Gulbrandsen. Love them!)

Preparing for a larger project. I have the drawing in my head, but I need reference images. I'm so happy for google. How on earth did artists ever manage without it?

WIP - Self Portrait

Self portrait - work in progress.

Most of the shadows were built up with tiny dots of ink.

Using Copic Multiliner 0.1 and 0.03. 

0.03 is really, really thin. The lines are thin like hair. I love these pens!

This was a mixed media project. The face and the necklace was a black and white photo, but I dotted the shadows with a pen on these too. All coloring was later done by hand. You can see the finished project in another blog post.

  I love to listen to music and enjoy a glass of wine while drawing! :-)
